Year 2020 brought us a new normal, our traditional way of our business was suddenly changed and the sales of professional beauty products have shifted from professional hair salons to online stores. After 29 years in the Beauty Industry, and working in different capacities from distribution to manufacturing of professional haircare and skincare products, I am witnessing the total shift in consumers behavior to shop online, mostly by necessity and not by choice. At the same time, I was amazed by the hard work of all salons and hairstylists that struggling to stay in business and trying to survive by giving services on the sidewalks or parking lots behind the salons.
So, what is the future of this $46.6 billion-dollar market for salons and spas after Covid?
We identified the biggest problem, with respect to retail out of salons and spas in the professional beauty industry and figured out how to solve this problem! This issue became especially obvious after the closer of thousands of salons and spas because of the pandemic and the number of online stores that started selling professional skincare and haircare products, which eliminated the chance for any salon or stylist to make money the traditional way of recommending and selling products to their clients.
